Digital Portfolios are an important inclusion in my computer science classroom. Digital Portfolios can be used by seniors for college admissions and scholarships. Student Digital Portfolios have at least 3 sections: About me, Projects and a BlogSite.

I have been invited to share an inspiring quote in a book to be published that inspires women, looking back at a time in my life. Since I teach highschool and am with highschool graduates for this important time in their life I will be thinking of myself at 17 years old. My daughter recently found a photograph of me the night of my senior prom in 1981 in my mom’s photos when she moved.  Graduating Highschool is an exciting time. The hard work to graduate as valedictorian or top 10% of the graduating class is done. Internships and Community service hours wrapped up with a poster and a bow. AP Tests complete. Thank you cards sent. Decisions are made with all their acceptances as to where they are going to college. Robots built and taken apart, ready to go for the next group.  I have had these exceptional 2024 graduating seniors in my program since they were in 4th and 5th grades. They are the first to complete the Junior Botball Challenge educational programs through BotBall regional tournaments annually, including GCER in St. Augustine, Florida Summer 2023.  In the first 5 min of class I lead 1-3 min of focus and breathwork. A “balanced breath” is the foundational practice for my students. My students report very positive feedback every year. Students find assessments especially stressful as well as other activities in school.  |
